skate journal: some light dorking on campus at a new spot (june 23, 2024)
Went to campus after a long day in the heat hiking and chilling with the fam. I didn’t have much drive to skate and I made myself roll for a while and look for new stuff. Turns out near the engineering building there is a spot that had been redone and I had somehow never seen. It had a two stair, six stair, a bunch of knobbed ledges and some tiny bumps in the parking lot. I really struggled initially. Warm up line which took an embarrassingly long time was front 180 a tiny crack gap, switch front 180 the next one, ollie down a 2 stair. Next one was front 180 up the 2 stair, turn around, b/s flip a little bump. I think I got fakie flip and maybe halfcab flip after too. Next line I never got. Front 180 up the two, fakie bigflip the bump. I tried a long time, my knee was hurting. Gave up for treflip but I was beat, it was getting dark and my toe was coming through the shoe. Went to look at the old Folsom bank to curb but it was too dark. So I walked back to the car and called it a night.
