After driving down from the mountains I watched the Fellas DVD then went out into the garage feeling pretty good. I had changed to the Currex insoles, but other then that no changes. I started with the straight 8. Kickflips felt alright, fakie flips were okay. I committed to most switch and nollie flips. They felt closer than they looked. But I think once I get a little better flick they might be possible. Heelflip and fakie heel were landed, but not great. Switch heel felt doable, but nollie heel not even close. Backside flip was alright, switch didn’t feel realistic this time. Got kinda close to varial heel, nollie varial heel not close at all. Then came treflip and it took like 10 minutes. Argh. That doesn’t sound so bad, but it felt bad. I was committing to a lot of them at least. I hucked nollie tres after that which I dont’ think I’ve ever landed in the garage. I was tired from the treflips though and didn’t really put the effort in. Ended trying halfcab heel which was kinda close then nollie front heel which wasn’t close at all.

Feeling better than I thought I would I had some time to kill before leaving for the mountains so I went out to the garage and skated. The 8.3 setup felt better, I had put smaller wheels on it too which I liked. Flip tricks were still hard, but came easier. Got kickflip, fakie flip, bad heelflip, backside flip. Hucked switch backside flip and it felt close. Nollie flips felt really close too. Ended with a few treflips with heel drag. It’s hard to get those all the way around in the garage.

Went out to the garage after working from home and literally did not land anything. I guess a few kickflips, but it took awhile to get them. It was so incredibly depressing. I couldn’t fakie flip. I tried nollie flips and felt like I’m still making some progress towards landing one, so there was at least that. But overall I just hated the 8.5 and realized that size doesn’t work for me. Somehow 8.75 was before the wheelbase change, but I think that might be a fib too so I went inside and redid my 8.3 complete.
