On a cold morning I went to Boulder park before work. I wanted to go into work early and then take a long lunch, but I had a suspicion I would be too busy ( I was right). My legs were a little stiff in the cold. Pumping around was alright. I eventually tried some ollies and kickflips. Some younger skaters came and made sure not to make eye contact or say hi. I had some fun hip ollies. The big setup feels great for that. I eventually settled on a line that took too long because I kept being scared of jumping on 50s on the little ledge. Argh. But it was front 50 across and down the little ledge up top, go around the miniramp section then b/s flip the weird hip by the ledge. I got about 10 grinds and managed to land the line right before I needed to leave for work. It was a pretty great feeling even though I think I was about 3 feet above my board in the air. Oh well, the landing felt cool and the bigger setup felt great for that.

(pain level 5/10 cold/sore knees)
On a cold night I went across the street to play on the curb. The motivation was to get a feel for halfcab 50 which Dave challenged me to. I played on the curb for about 30 minutes, but didn’t only try halfcab 50s. I had some fun slappy crook, 50s, nollie tails both ways. I got pretty close to the halfcab 50. I was going ultra slow, but I feel like it’s possible. I also tried a bunch of switch crook which I didn’t get, but I did get a fakie b/s nosegrind. It was a little scratch, but it felt cool. Then I went to the back and played on the rocks. It was weird how quite and crisp the air was. I felt like all the skate noise was way louder than normal. Anyway, I skated them differently. I did a few stalls at first, but rode across the narrower one, axle stall the one by the table, nosestall to fakie the middle rock. Neat. Then I started hucking kickflip nose stalls going one way and front smith or tail stalls the other way. I got really close to all three, but realize now that I didn’t land any of them. How did I let myself go home?

Got stuck late at work, but was feeling very pent up and needing to skate. It was snowing and I was too tired to leave so I just went to the garage. I did a couple kickflips then basically hucked for awhile. First fakie varial flips which weren’t close. Switch varial flip which was slightly closer. Then treflip which I landed a couple sketchy times.

On a wet and cold night Ollie and I headed out to the garage. At first the little plastic ledge was sitting on the ground and Ollie did a few front 50s before my body was willing to ollie. Then we put it up the step and tried to grind up it, but that was dangerous on many levels and we eventually ended up with the contraption shown in the video. It was quite fun. I had done the nose manny shove earlier before the line, but settled for the 180 as it was taking too long. Ollie had fun, but only lasted so long. So I skated flat for awhile. Heelflips were really hard, I barely landed one. This big board is tough for that. I got crappy b/s flips and treflips.
