skate journal: northside struggles with such great people (sept 13, 2017)

After work, driving, MRKT, Chipotle Dave and I rolled to Northside for only my second time being there after dark. The lights are really good except on the ledge. The crew there was so sick. Hayden, Jaeson, Andy, Chris and many more. Trying to skate was super hard and painful so I mostly just talked for awhile which was fun. I filmed Hayden a little. Tried to get going in the back corner with little hump ollies and barrier axle stalls. Chris Jones had some sick tailslides on the china bank, bonelesses, boardslides, more. Andy was rolling in everywhere, almost got kickflip pivot on the weird bank that gets steep at the end. Dave was all over the place. He said later he was struggling, but he was ripping as far as I could tell. Pivot/transfers on the barriers, manuals, slappy feebles, much more. I finally at least tried hard for awhile with a line of wallie, little slash the china bank then alley oop kickflip on the bank. Got close. Andy and Chris were gonna leave, but instead we all started trying 360 flips on flat. Andy was first. Chris was second. Dave and I never got one. I came close, but I’m not 70 years old so landing 270 with both hands down doesn’t count. I was incredibly frustrated with my skating and my setup, but seeing all of those dudes was great.
