skate journal: post swimming flatground fun until the wind kicked in (aug 23, 2017)
Went swimming after work. Then still had energy so hit the dog park. My legs felt good. Really good. Like the best they have in months. My warm up went quicker than normal. Quick enough that when Dave showed I was landing halfcab flips and trying more. I got a line of fakie bigflip, pop shove, first try heelflip, 360 flip where I put both hands down. It wasn’t a make, but I did land on it. I was hyped. I would land on several more, but never got a clean one. Dave should move to Boulder because it’s rad being able to meet up so easily. But for now it’s cool he’s working in Boulder. He did a lot of fakie shoves to get warmed up. Tried cab bigspins, got backside bigspin, landed the worst kickflip I’ve seen him land (sorry Dave, but that was amazing), several good kickflips, shoves, nollie 180s.. Whoa. I was trying a line of b/s flip then fakie treflip when some crazy wind kicked in. The b/s flips were terribly slow, but I like how I landed without tic tac’ing for once. Never got on a fakie tre, but I did commit. I blame the wind. Then we just skated the painted area trying tricks. I tried nollie tre and never got one. Dave tried nollie flips and switch heels. They were flipping right, but he didn’t get his feet on one either. Fun day, best I’ve felt in a long long time. Swimming is good.
