Hit the Leadville park on the way back from my moms on a beautiful day. Sunny and 60 degrees. Although a little windy at times. There was one other dude there for awhile. Aldyr? He was really nice. He thought I was 25 or 26. Ha ha. Man I wish. He was only off by basically 20 years. I felt okay to start, but was really hating my setup for some stuff. Lesson learned. 8″ highs are not good. I bailed a lot of stuff I shouldn’t. Tricks like slow front 50s on the curb, ollies up the wedge, axle stalls. Ugh. Depression set in pretty quick even though Aldyr was rad and ripping. I did get a little line of basics that was okay. Axle stall a bank, noseslide the bump to ledge, axle stall the bank to curb, roll into the little qp, the worst boneless over a rail ever, slappy tailslide, boardslide the round bar. Aldyr left and I had the park to myself. I lost most of my motivation and tried tiny ollies to fakie on the banks and switch flips on the mellower bank. The switch flips felt doable, but I never got one. I also rolled my ankle at some point. Not bad, but it’s worse now. I will be trying wider trucks or something else for now.
