skate journal: friday afternoon fun at saul’s (jan 27, 2017 day 16)
Got out of work early on a nice day. Met Matt, Eric and Saul and had a nice mellow session. I was a little nervous since this would be my first time skating Saul’s with smaller/low trucks. But I ended up skating better then I have in awhile. Made me stand by my claim that low trucks are good for transition because you are a little closer to the coping. Matt skated it much better than he said he would. He had a lot of back 50s, frontside carves and a front tail that took a minute. Eric was shredding and entertaining as always. Back d, back axle to fakie, almost front smith in the deep end. Saul had fast lines and some long grinds on the straight wall, pumped airs over the hip, had some funny falls, kind of rolled out of a back d layback ha. I skated better than I have there in awhile. Got a front d again, some 50s, tried to pose some frontside airs over the hip, did a lot of carve grinds which are the most fun trick.
