skate journal: flatground sucking n the warm (jan 8, 2016 day 4)
Posted in Skate Journal on January 9th, 2017 by corpoIt was so nice out. Almost 50 degrees with almost no breeze. It felt like spring. I found a dry patch (smaller then the photo above) and went to work on tricks. I started with no pop shove tricks, then got to kickflip and started to try and go past that. Struggled with b/s flip which bummed me out. Never got heelflip which bummed me out. Tried some PJ shoes I was wearing in my car for awhile and had the same luck. Clearly it’s not the shoes. Left to try and find something more motivating and found this spot. Tried some lines there and almost focused my board. Went to the nearby two stair that was dry (but the curb up/down was wet). I struggled to front 180 down it and couldn’t ollie up it. I big part of the reason is because of the terrible cracks. I went home super bummed on how I’ve been skating.
