skate journal: valmont soreness then temper (sept 29, 2016 day 273)
Posted in Skate Journal on October 2nd, 2016 by corpoI went out to Valmont feeling sore and unmotivated. Half of the lights weren’t on at the ledge and after running into it I moved across the street. I ended up starting out at this mellow bank spot. I would roll off the sidewalk doing a brief grind then try wallride to fakie. I got a couple. It was kind of fun and got me somewhat warmed up. I also did a couple nollie back 360s. I thought I was feeling better and moved up the lot. I was trying a line of pop shove off the the curb up top then manual around a couple of medians. I was hating my 8.25 and wishing I didn’t try the bigger board. I bailed a manual and my temper got the best of me and I shot my board forward as hard as I could .. right into a loading dock and the nose shattered. Ugh. Stupid temper, stupid big board too. I put the board out of it’s misery and went home.
