Met Dave here on a really nice night. We were gonna skate the banks, but there was a couple cops lurking so we decided to skate the manny pad first. I managed a first try kickflip manual and I think two more after it, but couldn’t do another one again. We both couldn’t quite do front 180 nose manuals. I got a slow switch 180 nose manual. Dave almost got manual body varial out. It’s hard at this spot because of how short the manual pad is. I tried kickflip nose manual and fakie bigspin manuals for a bit too, but didn’t come too close.
Then we went to the main attraction and skated there forever. Omi and Rael joined us. It was rad. Omi and Dave used to skate there together 30 years ao so that’s pretty special. Everyone did a bunch of tricks. Dave learned switch blunt and I learned front blunt. Omi somehow did a kick back tail. My favorites were front tail and front d over the hip. Dave had some rad backside ollies, sweeper, switch disaster over the hip, and much more. Omi did blunts to fakie. Rael had a crazy slide out slam going over the hip trying to clear the bar.
Then we went to the alley with the little curb that has a tiny bank before it. Omi went off and did bigspin noseslides and bigspin back tail. Whoa. I got a crappy kick back tail and almost a front smith stall kickflip out. There were all these kids on scooters and boards bombing the parking garage. It was pretty weird. Then Omi and Dave did boardslides and feebles down the yellow two sided curb in the garage. I did a line with an ollie down the 3 stair across the street, horrible ollie off the curb cut then a “slappy” front tail on the yellow curb. I cracked my board on one of the 3 stair attempts. Kinda hyped because that board was dead. Fun night. But I got home and started to feel so sick. Tried to go to sleep, but I was shivering and so cold. Must have got some food poisoning somehow. Argh.
