My uncle Frank’s album Two Headed Fly is available on the internet now. There are samples and you can buy it here. This cd has one of my favorite tunes of his, ‘Tough Times’, on it which is pretty appropriate these days. He sent me this info on it:
Hearing the words “Tough Times” daily in speeches, on the radio, in news broadcasts, all relating to the terrible economy in the USA and around the world….. I’ve reissued Mental Insect’s version of John Brim’s blues song, “Tough Times” in the digital download format.
It is now available from iTunes, amazon.com, emusic, napster, rhapsody and many others.
The rest of the “Two-Headed Fly” CD is also available. The site acting as distributor is cdbaby.com/cd/mentalinsect. (They also sell the actual CD.) Here you can read a description of the CD, see the artwork (Stephen Deutch’s great photograph), and hear 30 second sound bites of nine of the ten songs. There are two versions of “Tough Times.” The second longer version features an outstanding slide solo by the Chicago blues guitarist, John Duich. Chicago’s legendary jazz violinist, Johnny Frigo, plays all strings except cello on the string quartet piece, “Her Kiss of Hate.”
So get on it and check it out already!
